What does it mean to be a traveler today? How do we want to be perceived when we travel — and what is our real impact as consumers, visitors, and cultural participants? Is there such a thing as a right to travel?

This project interrogates the representation of otherness, developing a critical and reflective perspective on the complex power dynamics between the subject of an image, the viewer, and the cultural constructs that shape our collective imagination. I envision this as a process of self-reflection, cultural humility, and critique, an intentional rejection of the exoticization of "the other." By representing those who are different from me, I am not merely seeking to understand another culture but first and foremost examining my own beliefs, biases, and cultural identity.
